Artist:  Eliseo

Donated by the Addison Arbor Foundation

The artist of Arcadia was commissioned to create a monumental limestone sculpture depicting scenes from nature and carved the sculpture onsite. The sculpture consists of two large limestone blocks measuring approximately 11’ high x 4’ wide and weighing about 17,000 pounds each. The side-by-side pieces portray different scenes from nature on six sides and are capped with a large metal sphere that rests atop the two stone blocks. The sculpture stands about 15’ tall including the base and sphere. The name Arcadia reflects a vision of pastoralism, beautiful scenery and harmony with nature which was captured with his sculpture. The term refers to a sparsely populated Greek province associated with natural beauty of mountains, green spaces and unspoiled wilderness. Installed in 2018.
