Delayed Opening for Athletic Club Planned for Saturday

The Athletic Club is currently scheduled to open at noon on Saturday, January 24. Weather conditions will be reassessed on Saturday morning, so please check back for updates.

Wheeler, Ponte, and Bella Bridges are now closed due to icy conditions.

Saturday and Sunday productions of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee at The Addison Performing Arts Centre have been postponed.

Development Projects

Addison Parks and Recreation development is guided by the Parks and Recreation Open Space Master Plan. This Plan was developed to align Addison's parks and recreation services with community expectations and to identify the key projects that will transform our community.

In addition to enhancing the Town, our goal is to keep residents and visitors informed of project background, timeline, budget, updates, and ways to stay informed.

Beltway Trail Project

As part of Phase 1 of the City-Wide Trails Master Plan adopted in May 2021, the Beltway Trail project will create a connected trail system from Marsh Road to Belt Line Road. Planned improvements include buffered bike lanes (Marsh to Midway), a bicycle boulevard (Midway to Belt Line), and a new greenspace south of Addison Grove along Beltway, shaped by community input.

Cotton Belt Trail

This 57-mile trail is designed as a regional expressway for active transportation, serving cyclists, pedestrians, and other nonmotorized users. It is a partnership between NCTCOG, the RTC, DART, Dallas County, and local municipalities. There are three major segments in Addison, Texas.

Addison Athletic Club Outdoor Pool Restroom Renovation

The Town will undertake renovations to the men’s and women’s restrooms adjacent to the outdoor pool at the Addison Athletic Club. The project will enhance both functionality and appearance, providing updated and improved facilities for all users.

Bosque Park Reforestation and Improvements

In 2019, the Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Master Plan outlined future improvements for Bosque Park, including a comprehensive tree survey and reforestation plan. Additional enhancements to plantings, site furnishings, streetscape features, and site infrastructure were identified to support the park’s long-term sustainability and overall visitor experience.

Les Lacs Pond Improvement Project

In the 2019 Bond Election, voters approved a total of $3,282,110 for Les Lacs Pond Improvements including the replacement of the pond liner, ADA improvements, lighting, and more.
